Character stats and skills

What are stats?
Stats are the definition of your characters strengths and weaknesses in a sense. It shows ur characters stats as far as strength, endurance, agility, and precision all of which translate to a stat affecting your final stat sheet.

What is strength?
-Strength affects your damage solely, every point in it will raise your damage by a single point.

What is endurance?
-Affects your health, every point into this stats will raise your health by 5

What is agility?
-Affects your Dodge/defense chance, giving a +1 to dodge/defense for every point. Dodge is the opposite of hit, increasing you roll to avoid attack when you are struck, this roll will be made by the attacker against his own roll.

What is precision?
-Affects hit chance, giving a bonus of 1 to your hit with every level. Hit chance is your ability to hit an opponent, this is calculated by your attack roll, and will go up against the defenders dodge/defense roll to see whether you hit or missed.

Do I have a base stat sheet?
-Indeed you do and that can be found right HERE.

One stat taken into account that cant be altered by leveling, only items however is crit chance. Considering we use a rolling method on the forum we give everyone a base crit chance of 20, the max roll. However certain items can be crafted or looted that will lower it to say...17-20. Critical strikes will double the damage that is being done. Crits do not factor in hit chance, for example. If your crit is at 20, and you have a +3 hit modifier. Rolling a 18 will not qualify you for a critical as your BASE roll must be in the range, not your modified roll.

One extra stat only capable of being gained through armor is armor, a stat that will decrease the amount of damage given to a player whenever they are hit, so if you have 10 armor, an 11 damage attack would do 1 damage. unless said attack was a pierce attack in which the armor would be halved, and the damage dealt would be 6.

Skills are your normal bonuses in any rpg ever, providing a bonus others can have, but may not. The wide array of skills is divided into two separate sections. Combat and non combat.
To obtain skills your must level up and gain your SP through threads, upon gaining one SP you can obtain a skill, until you have a max of ten skills. Skills can be leveled up through skill points however allowing the player to still progress in the game even once hitting the max of ten skills, and a max skill is no easy feat. Skill point obtaining can be found HERE in the posting section as well as HERE in the level up section. Skill points CAN NOT be refunded without special items, so be confident in your choices.

Skills all follow the same buy system to keep it simple, while balanced. Skill points do not stack, meaning that level one takes three, and level takes five to total out at 8. think of it as, when you use skill points, they are gone for ever. Each rank is also given a name to appear as in game, instead of just rank one and rank two. Some sills don't have ranks, but cost more than the base version, however these are included still into your max of ten skills.
Novice - Rank 1 - 3sp
Apprentice - Rank 2 - 5Sp
Skilled - Rank 3 - 8Sp
Expert - Rank 4 - 12sp
Master - Rank 5 - 17sp

Combat skills

Weapon skill.
Ability to use the weapon and +1 damage per rank. Also gives access to better sword arts with higher levels.
Description - Allows the use of the chosen weapon listed below as well as increasing the damage.
Possible weapons are as follows
One Handed Dagger - Who doesn't love a butter knife?
One Handed long sword - Your average longsword
One handed curved blade - Think of a cutlass, pirates.
One handed spear - A spear, generally used with shields.
One handed Battle axe - Barbarians man...watcha gonna do.
One handed war hammer - Blacksmiths...gotta love em.
One handed rapier - Those pesky little needles.
Two handed sword
Two handed Warhammer
Two handed spear
Two handed Axe
Shield - Ability to weild a shield in off hand. (gets +1 to armor each rank)

Roar - Costs 10Sp
Adds 4 Aggro points to your character
Description - Character gives out a loud roar making the enemy notice him/her more. Counts as an attack Action

Charge
Adds one damage for each rank
Description - Only available for the first attack in combat, it adds bonus damage. Attack Action

Defense
Adds +1 per rank to your dodge/defense.
Description - Pretty clear. Passive

Battle healing
+3 hp per character post / rank
Description - Rejuvenates character on every one of HIS OR HER posts and only theirs. Passive

Boost - 10 sp
Lowers cool down on sword arts by 1 post
Description - A simple skill to make sword art attacks more frequent. Passive

Precise
Adds +1 to hit/lvl
Description- Increases characters ability to hit a target. Passive

Puncture - 10 sp
Lowers necessary roll by one for a critical strike,
Description- Character has become great at hitting the weak spots and can now hit a crit on a base roll of 19 without any other modifiers. Passive

Heal
+10 hp per rank to any party member. At rank five can be used on two people.
Description - Ability to heal a party member and restore their ability to live on. (can not be used on dead people...no reviving) Attack Action

Armor (Light or heavy)
+5 armor rank 1
+10 armor rank 2
+15 armor rank 3
+25 armor rank 4
+40 armor rank 5
Description- Enhances the players ability to wear a certain type of armor. YOU CHOOSE ONE TYPE, and it is not interchangeable, if you choose light, you only get the bonus wearing light armor.

Non - Combat skills

Retreat
+2 rank to running away from fights.
Description - Really only for scouting, it makes the chance to run from fights easier than normal, can lower it down to a 75-25 instead of a 25-75. Retreating is an attack action.

Scavenge
+1 rank to loot roll
Description - Makes looting enemies for items a much less painful time.

Backpacker
+1 consumable slot
Description - With the normal carry amount at 3, carrying an extra 1 or 5 health potions, could be an incredible bonus. More on inventory can be found at the bottom of the post.

Crafting - Quest
Ability to create items using materials obtained.
Description - Every player can get a single crafting skill through a quest on the first floor, later on however some quests may give access to a certain crafting skill. Crafting skills are as follows, and more on this kill can be found HERE

Blacksmithing - Weapons
Tailoring - Armor
Artisan - Trinkets
Alchemy - Potions and Crystals
Cook - Food for bonuses
Fishing - Catch fish for bonuses

Inventory is maxed out at five equipped slots. And the possible slots are however you wish to make them, but must include a weapon and armor. Whether you then want 3 rings with bonuses...feel free. Any vanity items not providing bonuses do not factor into this however. As for consumables you may have a base amount of three, this includes health potions, status heals, teleport crystals, food. And this doesn't mean three of each....no three altogether, so 1 healing crystal, one status heal and one teleport for example.

Sword arts
Sword arts follow a cooldown method like skills, Rank 1 skills are on a 1 turn cooldown ( use, cant use, use again ect)

Pierce = Avoid half of opponents armor (if they have any)
AOE = Instead of one person can hit up to FOUR

Too be honest, I haven't gotten all of these done. I will do them as people rank to 2 in an item, unless someone wants to do me a HUGE solid and make some for me. We can talk a reward.

One handed Dagger

-Stab -2x damage- A simple stab with the dagger.
-Blunt -1x damage stun- Flip your dagger and hit the enemy with the handle causing a one round stun.
-Fake -1x damage pierce- Two quick attacks, the first being a distraction while the second is a stab into your opponent, avoiding some armor.
